The bread is fresh (two-types) and it is served with a delicious olive tapenade. I had a glass of Chateau Montelena Chardonnay, it was light and dry, the wine is a little pricey, but so worth it. It is the most idyllic location, I sat with a glass of wine and a magazine, while the kids played on the playground in front of the restaurant. The restaurant is the first full service restaurant at the new Trancas Country Mart. Mangia's hours are 12 am to 10 pm every day. Finish it all off with homemade freshly baked desserts like Bignola, a baked cream puff filled with vanilla, chocolate cream, or strawberries and cream. New York style pizzas are available as well and are great for families because it comes with an 18-inch option. If that doesn't do it, traditional 12-inch Italian pizzas cooked in an imported Italian wood fire oven should spark the taste buds. For the main course, choose between the perfect fall comfort of homemade pasta like ravioli filled with butternut squash in butter and Parmiggiano sauce, or a risotto topped with shaved black truffles. Next, choose between a variety of salads including baby spinach, herb grilled Portobello mushrooms, Gorgonzola cheese, crispy bacon with a honey balsamic vinaigrette. Start off with antipasti like bruschetta or frito comprised of calamari, zucchini, shrimp, and carrots. Mangia offers an expansive menu, and family-style servings are recommended for bigger parties.
Additionally, Mangia offers quaint seating indoors with a full bar and comfortable seating outdoors in a spacious patio adorned with colorful umbrellas. The restaurant will serve classic Italian eats like pizza, antipasto salads and pastas. Tra di Noi's Antonio Alessi has opened Mangia Italian Countryside Eatery in the remodeled Trancas Country Mart on the North side of Malibu.
